Magadi Bus Stand
Details
▼
Magadi Bus Stand is the main bus terminus for Magadi town, the taluk headquarters of Magadi taluk in Ramanagara district, on Magadi Road (SH-3) about 50 km west of central Bengaluru. It handles BMTC buses from Majestic (KBS), Vijayanagar, Magadi Road and Nelamangala, plus KSRTC services towards Huliyurdurga, Kunigal, Tavarekere, Kudur and Ramanagara. Magadi is known as the birthplace of Kempegowda I, the founder of Bengaluru, and is home to the historic Someshwara Temple, the Kempegowda birthplace memorial, the Ranganatha Swamy Temple at Tirumale and the Sri Kalyani Mutt. It is also the closest town to Savandurga — one of Asia's largest monolith hills and a popular trekking destination — and to Manchanabele Reservoir. There is no metro station at Magadi — the nearest operational Namma Metro is Magadi Road on the Purple Line, about 40 km east. No committed metro extension reaches Magadi as of 2026. The surrounding town has a busy local market, silk and agricultural trading, and highway dhabas along SH-3.
